Never the less, the question is being asked around the blog-o-sphere; 'Do You Read in the Bathtub?'
Personally, I can't recall if or when I have ever read in the bathtub, be it a book, magazine, newspaper or other. Well, I'm sure I've read the backs of shampoo bottles or soap wrappers, but nothing more than a couple of sentences long. Not that cracking open a novel in a warm bubble bath doesn't sound appealing, but I'm a shower-taker myself and I even do that rather quickly!
Still, if I were to entertain the idea of reading while soaking, I'd be apt to use one of these Relax N Read Bath Tub Racks! With expandable arms to allow tray to fit tubs up to 36" wide, and adjustable book rack with a candle & tumbler holder, you could easily lay your head back on one of these bath pillows that keeps your head above the water for easy reading!
A big concern with reading in the bathtub is whether or not you chose to do so with library books! Though I wouldn't recommend it, if you do dare to read a borrowed tome, you may want to consider investing in an AquaReader. The AquaReader is designed so you can read and enjoy your time in the water with little worry of getting your reading material wet.
However, if you're still too skittish to read in the bath for fear of soggy stories, why not submit to The Beach Book. The Beach Book is a completely waterproof book filled with 11 fictional stories set on beaches around the world from internationally acclaimed authors.
Also by Durabooks is Poolside, a waterproof collection of fourteen stories by internationally acclaimed authors Alice Adams, John Updike, Joyce Carol Oates, David Foster Wallace, Ernest Hemingway, John Cheever, and AM Homes, as well as emerging voices such as Julie Orringer and Andrea Lee.
And finally, after a stressful day, The Soothing Soak is the perfect companion. Made for bathers in DuraBook's completely waterproof format, The Soothing Soak offers journeys of solitude, relaxation and revelation; perfect for unwinding in a warm bath.
As for me and National Read in the Bathtub Day, I won't be doing anything differently until Amazon comes out with a waterproof Kindle that mounts on the shower wall!

Post a CommentReading in the bathtub kind of defeats the whole purpose of being in the tub in the first place, lol. Nice article though. You picked an interesting topic to write on.
