Every month of the year is full of birthdays and each month, including February birthdays, have birthdays, astrological signs, birthstones, and birthday party ideas that are unique only to that month. February birthdays are full of fun and excitement even if the time of year may seem cold and dreary.

The historical birthdays that land in February are full of famous and interesting people that range from political figures to authors to infamous baseball players. Rosa Parks and Abraham Lincoln both have February birthdays and both ended up fighting for what they believed in. Just as there are musicians, there are actors as well, with Ashton Kutcher, Chris Rock, Jennifer Aniston, John Travolta, and Drew Barrymore all sharing the same birthday month. While there are many entertainers the month also has politicians such as Sarah Palin, famous basketball players like Michael Jordan, and corporate geniuses such as Steve Jobs.

February Birthdays in a Leap Year

February is the most unique month of the year because it holds the least amount of days and every four years it has an extra day added to the month. This four year cycle of adding one more day to February's normal 28 days is called a leap year. Imagine having a birthday that falls only once every four years, just like Antonio Sabato, Jr. who was born on a February 29^th.

Astrological Signs for February

Like all months, February has two astrological signs. Each sign is shared with the month before or after February. Those with the February birthday, February 19^th or before carry the astrological sign of Aquarius while those at the end of the month are considered Pisces. Those with the Aquarius sign are said to be intellectual, inventive, original, and detached. Think Lauren Conrad, Lisa Marie Pressley, Bob Marley, or Sarah Palin. Pisces are considered creative, compassionate, idealistic, and secretive. Famous Pisces are Ivana Trump, Sidney Poitier, and Levi Strauss.

Birthstone for February Birthdays

Amethyst is the birthstone for February birthdays. Amethyst has been a symbol of many things over the years such as a clear head or royalty. It was even thought to keep someone from getting drunk. Purple quartz, or amethyst, is found everywhere though Brazil are the biggest exporters. Some amethyst will lost their color in the sun or when exposed to rapid changes to hot or cold temperatures.

Birthday Party Ideas for February

There are many birthday party ideas that can be created for February that are specific to the month. Valentine's and Groundhog can both make good party ideas. Have a Valentine's themed party or let the groundhog decide if you will have a beach or winter party. Mardi Gras can also be a theme for a February birthday party or use the Super Bowl as an idea for a Super Bowl or football party and have everyone dress in their favorite team jersey. A Wii party is always a good idea for a birthday and for a February birthday you could play winter sports games.
