February Bulletin Board Ideas celebrating National Bird Feeding Month:

As winter continues, the month of February celebrates National Bird Feeder Month to remind us to give a helping hand (full of food) to the birds. Have students create unique bird feeder designs from lightweight recycled materials. Attach them to the February bulletin board to inspire others to create bird feeders this month. Encourage kids to name and label their birdfeeders with fun names like the Cardinal Café or the Blue Jay Bakery.

February Bulletin Board Ideas Celebrating American Heart Month:

February isn't just about paper and candy hearts. February is also American Heart Month. Have kids create a "Fascinating Facts about the Heart" bulletin board, adding them to paper hearts.

Alternatively, you could have kids create a February Bulletin board that shows off ways to take good care of your heart called "Ways to Love Your Heart." Kids could research health healthy foods, exercises and lifestyle choices and promote them on paper hearts.

February Bulletin Board Ideas celebrating National Chocolate Lovers Month:

There's plenty of chocolate around for Valentine's Day. Since we are all eating lots of it, why not learn more about chocolate this month? Have students research the history of chocolate and create a timeline for the history of chocolate on the February Bulletin board. Interesting facts could be written on hearts that resemble Valentine Candy boxes.

Since February is also National Dental Month and American Heart Month, you could also have students create a bulletin board showing the nutritional values, pros and cons of eating chocolate.

February Bulletin Boards ideas that celebrate Fairy Tales:

February 26 is Fairy Tale Day.

Create a "Fairy Tales We Heart" bulletin board. Each student could add the name, summary and what they love about this fairy tale to a unique heart. Encourage students to brainstorm ways to embellish the heart to represent their fairy such as a long braid for Rapunzel, candy for the gingerbread house from Hansel & Gretel or a red cape for Goldilocks.

Another idea is to create shoebox dioramas for each fairy tale that will look like a stage with a scene of a fairy tale play. Attach the dioramas to a February bulletin board entitled "Fairy Tale Theatre."

February Bulletin Board Ideas that celebrate Polar Bears:

February 26 is Polar Bear Day.

Create an "Interesting Facts about Polar Bears" bulletin board. Each student can research and add an interesting fact about polar bears to this February Bulletin Board. You can find free printable polar bears here at DLTK.

You could combine this with a Valentine's Day theme entitled "Why We Love Polar Bears." The white polar bears would really stand out against a red background.

Unfortunately I am one of those who puts up one bulletin board at the beginning of the year and leaves it. :)
