Federal Worker Escorted Out for Late Mortgage Payment

This article is perhaps a matter of opinion written from a housewife's fearful of losing her family's home, whose husband is in fact a federal worker. She hopes this article does not get her into trouble, or the family will really be out on the streets.

There are some pros to being a federal worker. Some of these benefits are job security, annual pay increase, traveling expenses, per diem pay, bonuses, hazard pay, and a good retirement program, among other perks. I have been a federal worker for a short time and can agree to most of these benefits.

It can be hard for some to get into a federal worker's position, but for the most part, one only needs to pass a test and score in the top 10 percent in order to get an interview. If you're invited to an interview you're likely a new hire, so jump for joy and congratulate yourself on a job well done. It's not over though with the hiring process, since this could take up to a year to finalize paper work and checking your background for any criminal history on you or your immediate relatives. Your friends and your addresses are looked at too and verified, these must be done prior to you becoming permanent full time.

So you're a well earner federal worker looking for a dream home only to find the home is a fixer upper because you have the ability to fix it up when you have the finance to do so in the future. Buying a fixer upper a few years ago was the worse deal, since at that time the house price was too high, and so it was wise to spend that amount since you don't have a lot of money. Raising a family is not cheap.

You chose to go through NH Housing Finance Authority because their rate was the lowest in the states. NHHFA also assists first time home buyers with down payment and closing costs. After a year with NHHFA your mortgage was transferred over to Dovenmuelhe mortgage who services the loan on NHHFA's behalf.

A wife's worry about her child resulted in her many job switches every now and again, because nothing was right. The child was always sick, the day care wasn't available or untrusting, or expensive, and how well was her child treated? At long last after years of researching and the motivation to become a work at home mom, her efforts have finally paid off, for the most part. The income she brings in does not equal to the amount from her previous employment but she's home, now with two jobs: eBay and Demand Studios.

The topic has been derailed a bit, but as you can see we have a good wager earner and a work at home mom with flexible income possibly averaging $1000 per month. Thanks to bonuses and travel money, her husband is able to supplement her income from time to time. But listen to this now.

The house they purchased is down 40k. They owe more than the value of the house, though their taxes remain the same. The city claims it is proper that they raise the tax rate from 9.99 to 22.95 within the last year to maintain the neighborhood, or to preserve, so to attract buyers?

Now because NHHFA is not Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac owned, NHHFA can choose not to participate in the Obama help for homeowner plan, because according to NHHFA, the bondholders do not wish to participate for fear that participation would not benefit them.

So this couple is stuck with an upside down mortgage. They cannot refinance or get their loan modified. Ok, the loan modification is still in process, and has been for over 6 months now. Call back says Dovenmuelhe. What donkeys!

Now here's the scary part. Because the husband has child support and the current wife does not receive any, with a new car payment to boot, they're pretty close to losing their home twice. It's a good thing they had 401k which they used twice to help pay their mortgage, so goodbye savings. Funny how the finance people tells others to keep at least 3 times the savings to help future expenses, it doesn't work here. The duo don't have cable or fancy cell phones and perhaps this is how they're able to pull it off in keeping their mortgage current.

Lord have mercy on them when they do get behind because the husband, federal worker might get escorted out for late mortgage payment, and that's the con of being a federal worker. You'll not be warned.
