FedEx's 2007 Super Bowl Commercial "Office on the Moon" is Out of This World!

If you thought last year's FedEx Caveman commercial was funny, then you'll probably enjoy this year's Super Bowl commercial, "Office on the Moon", as well. Like the Caveman commercial shown during last year's Super Bowl, this year's FedEx Super Bowl commercial emphasizes the fact that bad things happen to good people and it's all just random... or is it? I have a sneaking suspicion that FedEx has been playing with the odds!

FedEx's "Office on the Moon" opens with a group of company employees getting a tour of the first office on the moon. Everyone is in appropriate office attire as they traverse the obstacle course of floating people, papers and various beverages. The guide's statement of, "Sure, there's going to be a few kinks to work through," is a major understatement in my opinion, but what do I know? The idea of a company built on the Moon is somewhat intriguing... until you consider logistics.

After touring the inside of the first office on the Moon, everyone goes outside in full astronaut garb to "see the view". As the group gazes lovingly at Mother Earth, one bright group member wonders how they will get their product back to Earth.

Cue motivating Rocky-type music and flashing lights here! Prince's Super Bowl Half Time show "ain't got nothing" on FedEx!

Swooping out of the darkness of space, a FedEx spaceship, made specifically for traversing the route between the Moon and Earth, arrives in full fanfare. No worries now, FedEx is here! Problem solved. One of the employees gets so excited about FedEx that he pounds the fellow standing next to him on the back.

Did you know the Moon's gravity is less demanding than that of Earth? If one should jump, while on the Moon, one would propel oneself much further along than one would on Earth. Someone should have told this to the enthusiastic thumping employee and his hapless victim, Mr. Bill.

Suddenly, Mr. Bill, poor Mr. Bill, is jolted into the air and starts to float away from the Moon. Don't worry though. Bill doesn't care. Bill's a happy guy! He is happy because FedEx has come to save the day. So, instead of being worried, Mr. Bill is laughing! And as this pitiful man continues to laugh, he is propelled deeper into space.

Oh, how wonderful is the laughter of the unsuspecting! Laughing and floating, naïve and happy, Mr. Bill is suddenly... Hold it! I'm not going to tell you the best part. Instead, I'll let you watch FedEx's 2007 Super Bowl Commercial, "Office on the Moon", for yourself!

  • An office on the moon would need to implement some gravity stabilizers to allow employees to move around better.
  • Drinking hot, scalding, floating coffee while working in your office on the moon, might not be such a great idea.
  • Still trying to figure out how to handle Supply from your office on the moon? Never fear, FedEx is here!
When whacked on the shoulder on the Moon, one can, possibly, float completely off the satellite orb and in to outer space! Really! Seriously! Would I lie? Hehe

I guess I have to admit it, I'm a total commercial geek/addict. I love funny commercials. And yes, that final moment was definitely akin to last year's commercial.

I guess that final moment is akin to last year's caveman commercial. This was a great ad.
