Feed Your Dog the "Natural Way"!

Keith Dailey
As a pet owner, you are happiest when other people praise your dog, isn't it? The "kudos" could be related to anything-its sparkling teeth, the absence of bad breath, lustrous eyes, the brilliant sheen of its coat, or the fact that it presents the picture of remarkable health! Whatever the case might be, you feel on top of the world, since your pet is like your "own child"!

Now, achieving any of the above-mentioned feats is not easy! Your dog needs to be fed on a healthy diet so that it stays free from diseases. Any veterinary doctor would tell you that food with artificial ingredients is a big no-no; your dog requires holistic food or food that has been prepared at home. So, why not sit down with the vet and figure out nutritious meals for your beloved pet?

You might wonder why junk foods are bad for your pet. Well, they can lead to indigestion problems, or even something as serious as food poisoning. Unlike humans, it is not able to protect itself or convey its discomfort-it is up to you to do the best you can for your pet. So, if you wish your dog to acquire and retain that healthy glow, then opt for natural foods. Such foods are easily available in the market; many of them have famous brand names. But before you just pick up anything and everything from the store's shelves, consult your vet. Some types of canned food are meant only for specific breeds of dogs. Again, some of the cans contain varied kinds of breads. You really do not want your dog's life to get complicated further!

The reason for the popularity of these canned dog foods is that they are chock-full of fiber and protein. Additionally, they promise to be 100% free of any oil or fat. Then, there are the anti-oxidants, which protect your dog from being harmed by free radicals. A few natural foods contain minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, manganese, and calcium. And where there are minerals, vitamins are also bound to follow! So, your pet is neither going to lack in energy, or health! Good products are offered by California natural dog food manufacturers. Apart from canned foods, vegetables that are dark-green or bright orange promise a rich supply of anti-oxidants too. These can be part of the daily menu too.

On a final note of warning, we would like to state that if you let your pet indulge in stuff like raw pork, ice-creams, fatty meat, or cream too often, your dog might end up with indigestion and a weak metabolic system. And much later, dangerous diseases could creep in, proving fatal. Therefore, keep your pet happy, and you stay happy too!
