The figurative language used to describe the Thirumullavaram Beach is nonesense, nobody walk in this beach more than 100 meters as the beach is protected with heavy rocks to prevent from the waves. The Kollam Corporation is not doing anything for the last 15 years to improve the minimum infrastructure for this beach. it is said that if we excavate around 1 kilometer inside the sea shore we can see an ancient culture's remainings. There was an old palace built in wood near to the beach 20 years back this beautiful palace had been demolished by the travancore dewaswam board. This is an ordinary beach not advisable to swim without the instructions of the people dwelling around. In Karkidaka Vavu lot of people coming here for the traditional bath and for the "bali" for their dead ansestors. This is the only importance for this beach.Nothing else.
