Feel Golf Competitor Iron Review

Now many of you may have not have heard of Feel Golf or their popular line of wedges, and thats a shame, because the make some really good stuff! They have been around for over 10 years now and first were noticed for their wedge line. They come in all lofts and colors, and I think that this is what got them off the ground. They are even making a new 73* wedge! Yes 73*! I've had a chance to hit many of their products over the past couple of years and I thought I would write about their blade irons in this review.

The Feel Golf Competitor Blades are just that, blades! These babies feature almost no offset, a very compact cast head, and a thin top line you could cut paper with! The set I tried featured True Temper Dynamic shafts boy were this things tough to hit! The look great, feel decent being a cast head and are a bit on the heavy side. There are really no game improvement features with this set as it is intended and designed to be a true players club.

Well, the very first thing I noticed when I took these out to the range were how small and compact they were! I like this in a blade! They have almost no offset, a very, very thin top line and a great classic forged look. They are cast however, and I was able to feel this when I hit my first shot. A little harsher than I would expect, but nothing I could not live with. As I stated earlier, these clubs a very, very heavy. They are a D5 swing weight and the True Temper Dynamic shafts mean that with the stock offering, you need to be a beast to swing these things. I don't know of too many beasts out there who can handle a blade like this either. I would suggest a lighter, softer shaft if you pick up a set of these. They were extremely workable and were fun in that respect.

Overall this is a very good looking club. Some tweaks will be needed for most golfers however. I bent the lie angle up a couple degrees and tested a 6 iron with a Dynamic Gold Lite R300 and really felt the difference between the two set ups. I would suggest this club on looks and workability, but there are better blades out there.
