The price was $4.99, but Walgreen's were given a $4 coupon at the cash register, for your next purchase. 99 cents is a great price for a 5.5 ounce (156 g) tube.
The tube is yellow with a red flip top, which it actually stands on. It states on the front of the tube to 'Use daily to soothe and protect dry skin. It is non-Greasy with a Pleasant Scent." It contains aloe and Vitamin E.
The temperatures here in Florida are in the 90's but we were heading up to Boston to visit with Len's family. I figured that this would be a perfect lotion to take with me, as I knew that my skin hates the cold weather.
The first thing I tried the Carmex Healing Lotion on was my knees. My skin wasn't as soft as normal so I turned the tube on it's side, so that I could get to the lid. I pushed the lid, and there was a good size hole in the middle of the top of the tube.
When I squeezed the tube, I realized that this may be called a lotion, but it is a thick cream. As you squeeze it, it stays in a thick white ribbon. I put in on one of my knees and it rubbed it real easily. Then it just disappeared. For just a moment my knee felt wet, and then the feeling was gone. I had a smooth, soft, feeling knee.
I applied the lotion to the other knee, and it felt just as good. The smell of the Carmex Healing Lotion is a really nice light fragrance. Nothing overpowering.
On the back of the tube it states that this lotion "Soothes, heals, and protects". As Carmex have been in the healing business for over 70 years, with their lip balms, I trust their products.
Even though I have foot creams, I have been using Carmex all over my body when it has felt dry. It certainly compares to the Vaseline line of products, and I personally believe that it rubs in quicker than other products, and really is non-greasy. For that reason alone, I would purchase Carmex Healing Lotion again.
