Feline Valentine

Just as sweet as human kind,

Alley cat turned cooing dove

Turned me into fool for love.

One-eyed hungry stray

Ate his kippers, ran away.

Maybe never had a home,

Or a person of his own.

Feline Valentine,

Obviously far from fine,

Ragged ears and quacky meow,

I'll get you to vet somehow.

Slowly building trust,

Kibble joins the two of us.

By late fall a close-up view...

Plush-toy cute, but scary, too.

Finally carrier-confined -

Kippers work as trap bait too!

Now let's see what vet can do...

Big brute breaking hearts,

All these problems! Where to start?

Our chance meeting very fateful,

Rehab cat seems strangely grateful.
