Female College Students: How to Accessorize Your College Apparel

Tiffany Bell
Most college students don't leave that much time to get ready before their classes, so they throw on the same college t-shirts and shorts or pants all the time. Wearing the same old college apparel to your classes every week can get really old really quick. It only takes 2 minutes or even less to accessorize your college apparel and change up your outfits. This way, the other students in your class won't think that you only have 2 outfits to your name.

The first thing that you should know about college apparel is that it doesn't have to be baggy and sloppy. There are so many different styles out for t-shirts, pants, and shorts in college apparel. Many of the clothing items are up-to-date and current with the fashion trends. So, when you do your shopping for your college apparel, look for fitted items and not the basic baggy t-shirts and sweatpants. Cute fitted t-shirts and fitted yoga pants are a way better option for wearing to classes, then the baggy sweatpants and t-shirt that looks like you took it from your boyfriend's closet.

Now, that you have college apparel that is appropriate for a woman and not a man, you need to get creative with the way you accessorize it so that it doesn't always look like the same outfit that you wear to class ever day. Here are 5 different ways that you can accessorize your college apparel.

1. Pair a fitted college shirt with a pair of nice trouser jeans instead of sweatpants or your basic boring jeans. Add a wedge shoe or a pump (depending on how far you have to walk to class) for some more style to the outfit. This plays up the college apparel a little bit more and makes it look like you put getting dressed, when it only took you the same amount of time.

2. Adding chunky jewelry can help accessorize your outfit. Add some chunky bangles on your wrist or a pair of chunky earrings. You can also add a long necklace to the outfit. This will only take you about 2 more minutes in the morning to pick out a piece of jewelry.

3. Another way to accessorize your college apparel is with a long scarf. A big trend now is wearing light-weight cotton scarves even when it's not that cold outside. Add a scarf around our neck and it can take your outfit to a new fashion style.

4. If you decide that you want to wear your fitted sweatpants and t-shirt instead of jeans one morning, try adding a brightly colored tennis shoe to the outfit. A cute and trendy shoe can add a lot to a boring outfit. Also, you can see how many people compliment you on your shoes that day.

5. Lastly, try wearing a cute hat one day with your college apparel. If you want to go the boring route, then throw your hair into a ponytail and put in a college baseball cap. If you want to be a little more daring try a beret or newsboy cap instead of a baseball cap.
