Feminine Styles for Spring

Missy Slink
Despite the rising number of working women in the world today, very feminine fashion styles are starting to re-emerge this spring season. These styles typically fall into the category of lacy or loose-tightly fitting clothing falls more on the side of club dance wear in current fashion. Flattering for a wide range of body shapes, these looser, more feminine styles have replaced the formerly more fashionable tighter styles. Fortunately, this newer style can be found through a variety of designers for a wide range of prices-perfect for providing flexibility for the conscientious shopper.

If your budget has a little more room for investing in these lovely, feminine styles, then be sure to check out the dresses offered through designers such as "Edelweiss by Sarah." Edelweiss is a Brooklyn-based shop that offers beautifully designed quality clothing. Each season a new collection of dresses is announced, and this spring's designs are a beautiful investment for anyone wanting a few quality pieces that are timeless in their style. Primarily calm, neutral hues of blues and tans, this spring collection offers dresses that are versatile enough to be perfect for a day in the office or a springtime walk in the park. Relaxed fitting, but not slovenly, Edelweiss by Sarah's springtime dresses are a comfortable and practical addition to your 2011 wardrobe.

Popular online retailers like ModCloth and Ruche also offer a wide variety of fun, feminine styles. Similar in approach, these companies both sell "vintage inspired" clothing, with a heavy emphasis on chic dresses. Typically less professionally versatile than Edelweiss' dresses, both of these stores still offer a wide range of spring dress styles. Perfect for spring dances, special occasions, and (occasionally) work, ModCloth and Ruche's fun styles are perfect for embracing this season's lovely feminine approach to fashion.

Finally, local vintage shops are often a great place to explore for affordable, classy finds. Lace dresses and blouses from such stores can take a more modern appearance when paired with a simple belt, and old cardigans can be lovely outer additions to any outfit. To stay inline with the looser, more relaxed clothing style, you may have to purchase dresses that are a size up from what you would normally wear. While stores such as Goodwill and the Salvation Army may offer a few dresses and blouses that fall into this season's feminine styles, you may need to search more specialized local secondhand vintage shops to discover some truly classy items.
