Aromatherapy is the use of pure essential oils, extracted from plants, trees, seeds and shrubs for improving emotional and physical well being. The principle behind aromatherapy is based on the mysterious and phenomenal sense of smell, which causes absorption of the essential oils into our blood stream. These oils affect the way we feel, act and respond. These essential oils when used by themselves or in combination with other essential oils are very effective. They may be used for treatments such as cleansing, balancing, freshening, deodorizing, transformation, energizing and aligning.

Some of the benefits of the specific oils are:

Seeking relief from the pain he plunged his hand into a vat of pure lavender essential oil. The pain vanished almost instantaneously. Within a few days his hand had healed, leaving no blisters, no scars or infection. Hence the popularity of lavender oil for the treatment of scalds and burns.

Essential oils of bergamot, ylang ylang and lavender are good for enhancing memory. Studies are being done with the use of these oils to improve the memory of the elderly and those suffering from Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia. Therefore they are finding positive results among these patients with the use of these essential oils.
