Feng Shui for Your Bedroom & Bring Happiness to Your Love Life

Cassie Mae
What Is Feng Shui? - The first time I heard about Feng Shui was a few years ago from my friend and neighbor. I could not believe this beautiful house on our block had not sold. My friend replied, "Well, look where the garage is! That is bad Feng Shui." What on earth was she talking about? She informed me what Feng Shui is. Feng means "wind" and Shui means "water" in Chinese. She explained Feng Shui is how you balance energy in your home to keep you and your family healthy with good fortune. You want to surround your home with livelihood and fortune. If you have bad Feng Shui you will have hardship and misfortune.

Wow. Powerful. I had to learn more about Feng Shui! I also wanted to learn about it and then tour her home. That way I could see how my friend and neighbor was utilizing Feng Shui.

There is a lot to learn about Feng Shui. I decided to speak more to my friend about it to learn how to make my house healthy. We all could use fortune!

What Not To Have In Your Bedroom - I decided to start with our bedroom first. I knew it was anti Feng Shui. I've heard it is bad to have your computer and exercise equipment in your bedroom.

So we took the desktop computer and hooked it up in the family room. One item gone. Next we took our Nordick Track and Treadmill out of our bedroom. Things were feeling more relaxed already.

We should not have a television and VCR in our bedroom either. We kept both in our bedroom even though it's not recommended. We have an armoire and when the television is not on we close the doors.

I used our computer desk to put work into such as downloading the massive amounts of photos I take from our family to nature to art. I also scrapbook and my supplies were in our bedroom. Remove any items in your bedroom that have to do with work. I took our file cabinet and put it next to the computer desktop in its new room.

Color To Paint Your Bedroom - My friend told me to use calming colors in our bedroom. Off white and brown tones to be exact. Use a combination of the colors in your bedroom.

Fresh Air - Also, open your bedroom windows to bring fresh air into your bedroom often.

Balancing Your Bed - Your bed should be comfortable and have an end table on each side for balance. One for you and one for your spouse. You should be able to get out of the bed on both sides. Another mistake we had in our bedroom. My side is up against the wall and my husband has a night stand. That never made sense as in the middle of the night I often have to climb over my husband to use the bathroom. Half of the time I accidentally smash his leg or foot. We left it that way for years as my husband has to use the night stand for his alarm clock as he goes to work earlier.

Balance the night stands by one table having male items on and one having female items. Easy to do as I'm sure you both have your own items you use. I have a tall vase with a green spike plant, small candle with rocks around it, statue, and alarm clock on my table. My husband has his alarm clock, and a rock waterfall decoration that makes soothing sounds when turned on.

Bedroom Lighting - Feng Shui suggests you use candles in the evening in your bedroom. I know that won't work in my house as candle scents bother my husband after awhile. He must have allergies. So we compromised and bought a light dimmer from Menards. The light dimmer makes for a much more romantic setting.

We moved our bed to another location now that we have all of the exercise equipment and computer space. Now each end table is properly placed.

Art To Hang In Your Bedroom - I recently purchased some gentle erotic and romantic modern art to hang on our walls. One piece is called "The Kiss" by Rabi Kahn. Another piece is called "Romantic Wet." Both pieces I ordered from a wonderful website art.com. They will even mat and frame your pieces with your choice of color. I ordered three art pieces a year ago from a friend that fits this theme.

Make sure your photos are happy, your taste, and not negative. Nothing sad. You do not want the first thing you see in the morning to be something depressing. You are trying to achieve good energy especially for your love life. Even if you are single, choose happy, loving pieces; not negative. Your attitude and energy will be spent focusing on positive things.

Conclusion - Your bedroom is a place of relaxation, your love life, and sleeping. Enjoy achieving a new calm bedroom for a healthier, happier you.

I always thought there was something else to all that stuff.. like your bed has to point a certain direction.. say east or some crazy stuff.. not that Feng shui is crazy or anything, but it always made me way to stress out just reading it in magazines none of the techinques were ever put into place.. Nice article.. I like yours way better then the ones I have read in magazines.. !
