Feng Shui Combined with Country Home Decorating Style

Home is where the heart is, and this article combines the feel good of Feng shui with the warm hearted feel of a country home design. Firstly, you want to minimize the clutter in your home. Clutter gives a feeling of uncertainty, and if a home is messy your mind is messy. Also, a country home should have good solid furniture, but be minimal in as far as surroundings go. Empty the room of all furniture, ornaments and anything else if you can. Starting off with a clear room makes for a clear mind. Let's look at colors, the Feng shui earth colors are light yellow and beige. These are also good earthy colors for a country style setting. Regarding these colors they should be positioned Northeast and Southwest, and focused on the center of your house. So, light yellow and beige are good colors to use in the living area of your home. A padded microfiber sofa, quite large in beige would be a comfortable and earthy addition to your living room. The right placement of color is defined by the energy map of your space. The color brown represents wood in Feng shui. The positioning of the furniture is dependent on the positioning of your front door. If your front door faces South then everything can be positioned accordingly. I recommend placing the sofa in the East of the room as this pertains to health and family. Painting the living room a shade of yellow will add light to the room. Yellow is a cheerful color, and will uplift your mood when you enter the room. I'd recommend having a blanket or throw over with beige and yellow colorings draped over the back of the beige sofa. Any other furniture or ornaments should be kept to a minimum. For a country atmosphere, bring some of the outdoors in by getting some nice wild flowers in a vase on a coffee table. Nice leafy green plants with shiny leaves also would be admirable to the eye.

Let's make some comments on the bedroom now. A good Feng shui bedroom is one that invites you, calms you, but excites you at the same time. Again, get rid of any clutter in the room. The television, computer, or work out equipment has to go. The good energy of Feng shui is ruined if these objects are in the room. Candles are the best lighting for a sense of ambiance and calm. However, a dimmer switch works well too, that way you can adjust the lighting according to your mood. For bedroom art use pictures or paintings that inspire you, things that you like, and events taking place that you enjoy looking at. Woodland paintings, animals, and landscapes are all good for the country feel. In accordance with Feng shui energy never have your bed facing the door. Choose a bed that is solid with a comfortable mattress. Use sheets with natural fibers to create a naturally balanced room. Skin colored tones should be used when at all possible.

We are constantly exchanging energy with our surroundings. Therefore, a harmonious atmosphere in all rooms leads to harmonious people. The kitchen should be as airy, clean, and bright as possible, again no clutter. The color yellow is supposed to be good for digestion, so obviously a good color for the place you prepare meals and may eat in.

The country lifestyle and Feng shui actually have a lot in common. When you think about the streams, rivers, trees, wildlife, and natural beauty of the outside countryside, it is calming. This is also what Feng shui is all about, the calm tranquility and positive energy in your home, workplace, or pretty much anywhere you can think of. So, bring in some of the calming effects of the outdoors to your home by adding decor. You can use leafy patterns on bed spreads or curtains. Wood is great for bringing a country look to your home. Plants are good too for that country feel. A small indoor water fountain can be good for relieving stress. Listening to water running always has a calming effect.

In regards to Feng shui it is used differently for particular types of homes. Large mansions have large spaces which is good for creating positive energy within the house. To create Feng shui within a country house environment, here are some tips. Where possible the main door should open to a good view with no blockages to allow the energy to come directly into the home when the door opens. A bright hall gives good energy. Place a pile of gold near the main door, rocks painted with gold coloring can be used. Make sure the staircase is not directly across from the door. A circular driveway is better than a long straight one leading up to the house. Enjoy your home, keep a positive energy surrounding each room, and you will have a positive lifestyle for the future.
