Nature is Abstract - Walkways, Paths Should Bend and Meander - Tips for Solving Issues
According to Feng Shui philosophy, a straight as an arrow shot to the front door, is not proper alignment for constructive energy flow. Presumably, energy travels at an even pace, along a curvy, winding path.
A walkway with a straight line, on the other hand, fires an overwhelming current right to the front door. Therefore, imitating nature in its geographic blueprint will attract the flow of good energy to your home if you are designing a new walkway to the front entrance.
If the footpath or walkway to your home is straight on and already established, consider scattering fast-moving Chi by planting bushes and dazzling colored flowers (especially some in brilliant red) on each side of the passageway. Remember to keep shrubs and bushes groomed and trimmed of any lifeless material and weed flowers on a regular basis.
You can also install a lattice garden arch or arbor over the established walkway to disperse a fast-paced energy flow. Plant a trailing vine to creep and grow along the arbor. Paths and walkways should be clear of debris and obstacles to promote a healthy energy flow to your door.
The same Feng Shui principal applies if you are designing a garden with a footpath. Curving the path to meander through the garden is important for raising harmonious energy. Balance out the garden in color, shape and size of plants, which ensures one does not overpower the other.
To promote wealth, place a tall, healthy plant potted in a gold or red container, on each side of the front doorstep or stoop. However, be sure the plants do not block entrance to the door itself. If the architectural design of your home includes columns or pillars, diminish negative energy of sharp or protruding corners with hanging plants or baskets of bright flowers. Incorporate Water, Color, Outdoor Enhancements in Your Feng Shui Landscape Design
Some people decorate the Feng Shui yard with elaborate water fountains, ponds and streams. If you want, the water feature of Feng Shui, which is a lucky element of prosperity and Yin (feminine energy), but do not want to spend a fortune...a simple birdbath or fountain will do. This is especially effective if it is located at the entrance of the home.
If you have a front porch, you can attract "golden opportunities" by hanging white or red string lights on the outside or inside of the porch. A silver gazing ball in the front yard is another auspicious symbol. Wind chimes, which are available in hundreds of various materials and designs, produce positive energy. You can display these Feng Shui tools in entrances, porches, the yard or gazebo. Shop these items online at uniquefengshuishop.com.
There are tons of Feng Shui landscape design items and books available online or at many local garden and nursery centers. Do some research before you begin and your yard will usher in the beneficial qualities of the the ancient practice of Feng Shui.
