Fern Street Circus: San Diego's Non-Profit Junior Circus!

Fern Street Circus is San Diego's Non-Profit Junior Circus. Fern Street is not only a non-profit business but also operates a free after school circus program for elementary and high school youth. Fern Street's circus program offers children a way to open their hidden talents by learning how to do different circus talents that include: tumbling, acrobats, juggling, stilt walking, aerial talents, and much more.

Youth are able to be in a safe environment, have fun, and learn talented skills that could lead them to many beneficial opportunities.

Along with the Circus School that is based at the Golden Hill Recreation center the circus also performs different shows around the city. The older youth who learned their talents at the Circus School also are able to work for the circus at different performances that the circus book. Fern Street circus gets many bookings from corporate and private businesses.

These bookings help Fern Street circus support the After school circus program. Fern Street also has a show every May in Balboa Park at Presidents way to showcase all their student's skills and to raise money for this Non-profit Circus. For this show the students work all year at the circus school practiciing their talents to get ready to show them off.

Alot of the students put alot of time and energy to get ready for the main show. Auditions for the show start very early in the year and practice goes on for weeks until the show begins. There are also many volunteers who help make the show successful.
