Ferndale City Hall will receive renovations
Neighborhood: Ferndale
Ferndale, MI 48220
United States of America
Over the next couple of months, the second floor of the Ferndale City Hall will be closed for renovations. Additions will include an elevator, and a new ceiling, carpeting, and paint. According to the City Council, there is a $1 million improvement fund that is largely undesignated. It was going to be used for a new courthouse and renovations to the City Hall and the Police Station until the recession hit.

One major change at City Hall will be one counter on the second floor to serve residents instead of the four or five different counters that have been there to this point. The Mayor pointed out that reducing the number of counters can lead to a reduction in staff. Only two of the five council members voted against the renovations, citing spending as their primary reason.
