Ferndale Halloween Fun

The play "Nightmare Box" at the Planet Ant Theatre, 2357 Caniff, offers a Halloween theme for a date or heading out on the town with a significant other.

Here's the plot: "For two thousand years, a demon has been imprisoned. If he is ever released, it will be the end of days. This Halloween, in accordance with the prophecy, someone will try... and someone will try to stop it. Who will succeed? The demon is Archamendon. His prison is the Nightmare Box."

It's a deep enough tale that five writers were required: Dave Davies, Margaret Edwartowski, Shawn Handlon, Kelly Rossi and Marke Sobolewski. The director is Shawn Handlone, who is sort of doing a Woody Allen/Spike Lee/Mel Brooks rendition of appearing in one's own script. The performers are Michael Carnow, Jill Dion, Keith Kalinowski, Alysia Kolascz and Pete Podolski.

Ticekts for the show on Halloween Eve, Saturday, Oct. 30, at midnight are $20. You can get in for $10 apiece at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26. Seats can be reserved by calling (313) 365-4948 or emailing reservations@planetant.com.
