Ferndale Library Suffers Major Water Damage, Will Reopen This Week
Neighborhood: Ferndale
Ferndale, MI 48220
United States of America
On Nov. 26, Pat Lind, a librarian at the Ferndale Public Library, showed up at work and found extensive water damage. Apparently, there was some sort of problem with plumbing in the mechanical room. There was quite a bit of damage, especially to the Friends of Ferndale Library's used bookstore. But other areas were unaffected.

The library's books and media collections were not harmed, and the furniture and computers were spared as well. Also, the children's library avoided water damage. Ferndale taxpayers shouldn't have to pick up the tab because the library's insurance should take care of it. The library is expected to have things cleaned up enough to open back up this week.
