I recently sent an email to Ferndale Mayor Craig Covey asking him what he thought the greatest strengths of Ferndale were. I also wanted to know what kind of untapped potential Ferndale had that other area cities should know about. The following was his reply.
"Ferndale is a cool city because we decided that this town would welcome all people, and that we would show the region a new way, accepting people regardless of race, religion, age, income, disability, color, nationality, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, or gender status. It worked. Everyone feels welcome, we are a free city, and people are attracted to Ferndale because it is truly welcoming."
