Ferndale police have busy Independence Day weekend

Ferndale Police had a quiet Independence Day, responding to just one accident and making no arrests; the simple traffic accident was on West Hazelhurst. The day before and the day after kept them busier.

On July 3, Ferndale Police responded to six complaints and made four arrests. A man was arrested on West Marshall for home invasion and, nearby on Edgeworth, Police investigated a complaint regarding a stolen vehicle. Police also made arrests for domestic violence, violation of curfew, and drunk driving.

The day after Independence Day was equally busy as Ferndale Police responded to six complaints and made four arrests. A man was arrested for retail fraud at a store on East Nine Mile Road, just east of Woodward. There was also a non-traffic death investigation, a hit-and-run traffic accident, and police assisted the Ferndale Fire Department with a mental commitment case.
