On Friday, October 8 the Ferndale Eagles football team had a homecoming to remember. The recently re-energized Eagles beat the Birmingham Groves Falcons 45-13. After losing three out the their first four games, many Eagles fans (myself included) were less than hopeful about the prospects for a winning season, much less a playoff berth.
However, the Eagles have now won their third straight and still have a shot at the playoffs if they can win the rest of their games(1). Can they do it? After watching Friday's game it is clear that the Eagles have their confidence back. Jamael McTear, his brother Jamrius, and Anthony Garland looked absolutely unstoppable.
I had a ball watching the blowout win along with the rest of the Eagles faithful. If things go as well as this game did throughout the remainder of the season, the playoffs are a sure thing.
