Ferndale's Roosevelt Primary School may get new playgound

Changes may be coming to the Roosevelt Primary School playground, which has elicited complaints from neighbors in the area west of Woodward between I-696 and Nine Mile Road. Even though the school is only for students between kindergarten and third grade, the school's playground is home to a full basketball court that has drawn large crowds of adults for pick-up games.

The development plan may include removable basketball hoops and revamped playground including swings, a reading area, a community garden and a play structure. This would be a welcome change to the nearby residents who are bothered by the noise emanating from adults playing pick-up games.
