Classic Elegance Fourth of July Tablescape
Items needed:(all of these items can be purchased at a mass retailer)
1 white table cloth and 1 navy blue square tablecloth to fit your table
1 large basket
Enough red geraniums to fit the large basket
Potting soil
Coconut liner
3 small American flags
Flag plates, napkins, and cups
As many white pillowcases as there are chairs (optional)
Wide complimentary patriotic ribbon (optional)
Cover your table with the white tablecloth. Overlap the white tablecloth with the navy blue square tablecloth so it lies in a diamond shape. Place the coconut liner in the basket. Fill the basket with potting soil and plant geraniums in the basket. This is your focal point so the basket should almost be overflowing with geraniums. Place the 3 small American flags inside the geraniums. Place the basket in the center of the table. The flag plates, cups, and napkins will be the perfect finishing touch. If you'd like to go all out, cover each of the chair backs with a white pillowcase. Cut enough of the patriotic ribbon to tie around the chair back and form a bow at the back of the chair.
Casual Star Spangled Fourth of July Tablescape
Items needed:
White table covering with patriotic border (found at a party supply store or mass retailer)
1 large patriotic tin star, 2 smaller blue tin stars (found at a craft store)
1 large, 2 small plate holders (found at a mass retailer)
Star confetti (found at a party supply store or online)
Star shaped cookie cutter for each place setting
Blue plates and cups
Large red napkins
Cutlery
Cover the table with the red and white checkered table covering. Prop the large patriotic tin star on the plate stand in the middle of the table. Place the other smaller tin stars on plate stands on each side of the large star or on each end of the table. Sprinkle star confetti all over the table. Set plates and cups at each place setting. Wrap cutlery with napkin and secure with a star shaped cookie cutter as a napkin ring.
Remember that these are just suggestions. Use your own imagination to alter them to fit your celebration. Focus your decorating efforts on your festive Fourth of July tablescape and your guests will surely be impressed.
