Festive Themes for Christmas Tree Decorating

Getting Ready to Decorate the Christmas Tree? Here Are Some Great Festive Themes for You!

Abigail Beal
With Christmas coming soon, many are thinking about how to decorate their Christmas tree. We are fortunate that there are so many choices in types of ornaments - that you can literally choose any type of ornament you would like! Recently in a catalog, I saw two ornaments for digital cameras and one for a cell phone. There was even one for a latte.

While some families like to have a very traditional looking tree, others want their Christmas tree to have a really unique look to it. You can get themed ornaments and created a very special tree all of your own. The fun of this is that you can change the Christmas tree every year and do a different type of tree each year, as there are so many different types of ornaments available.

When selecting a theme it is probably best to consider your family and your circumstances. If you have young children living in the home, they are going to be excited about the tree - and they should probably be permitted to have a bit of their say in what type of tree the family has for Christmas. Or you could always do two different trees, a tree for the children and your own unique Christmas tree. If you are crafty, you may want to make all of your ornaments. This can be a fun project and will certainly keep you busy for awhile. A six foot tall tree when covered generously with ornaments - usually holds sixty to seventy ornaments (depending on size and style).

If you do a themed Christmas tree you may also want to match some of your other Christmas decorations to compliment the theme. Look for easy ways to compliment your theme, such as adding throw pillows to the couch, matching candles to the fireplace and other decorative items that compliment your theme that can go throughout the room. Select the theme that appeals to you most and then look for themed items that will compliment your Christmas decorating.

Here are some ideas for Christmas tree themes for you. Happy decorating!
