Easy to impress, yet makes a statement! You no longer have to go out to eat to enjoy this classic favorite. Included are a few suggestions on how to personalize and bring this restaurant quality food to your dinner table.

Ingredients:

1 Tbs butter

1 pint of fat-free ½ & ½

4-5 garlic cloves

1 C. grated parmesan cheese

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp paprika (optional)

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

Fettuccini pasta

Step 1

In a large saucepan, melt butter on medium heat and press garlic cloves into the butter. Add ½ & ½ slowly while stirring briskly. Allow mixture to warm. Add parmesan cheese, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper and continue stirring until cheese has dissolved. Reduce heat and stir occasionally.

Step 2

Prepare fettuccini as per the manufacture's directions.

Step 3

Increase the temperature and begin stirring more often. For thicker sauce, allow it to cook down or for a thinner sauce, add milk. Once sauce has desired consistency, serve over a Fettuccini.

Substitutions: A heavy cream or ½ & ½ may be used in place of the fat-free ½ & ½, however, you may need to use milk to thin the sauce to meet your preferences.

Suggestions: This is a great base for many dishes. For variety, try adding grilled chicken, salmon, broccoli, bacon, tomatoes, or your favorite. Add salsa or a can of chipotle peppers to the base to give it a Baja flavor.
