Fewer Nintendo Wii Units Sold on This Year's Black Friday Than Last Year's
Sony Lowering Prices on the PS3
The main reason why both Microsoft and Sony have had weaker sales in the past with their units is because they were originally sold for 400 to 600 hundred dollars individually. When the PS3 was first released to the public in 2006, they retailed at six hundred dollars just for the for the 60 GB model. This was possibly the reason why the Nintendo Wii sold many more units than both Sony and Microsoft's video game consoles. The Wii received many positive reviews and proved to be the electronic item to buy for the Christmas of 2006.
The Wii has always been considered the better console in terms of interactive entertainment among consumers of all demographics. Their most popular game popular game to date is Super Smash Bros Brawl. This is a highly addictive game that lets you choose almost every superstar character from the Nintendo franchise. It's a fighter game that revolutionized the gaming world with its fantastic game play, sound, and of course, graphics. I personally believe that the Nintendo Wii will once again top the charts as the bestselling video game console once it lowers its prices slightly. Unfortunately, it won't anytime sooner because it is still selling a lot of units regardless of how many units its competitors sold. I plan on buying a Nintendo Wii once it sells for $149.99 at Best Buy stores. I still think two hundred dollars for a video game system is still steep regardless of how great it is. I have yet to meet anyone who has bought the PS3 system for its original price. That is a good thing because spending nearly six hundred dollars for an entertainment system is downright crazy.
