Fibromyalgia Support Groups and Information

Some of the Best Fibromyalgia Website Available

LDP
I have suffered with Fibromyalgia for almost 2 years now. As a medical professional I have researched this disease to the extent that I can give you some of the best sources on line to help you find information, support, inspiration and other tools necessary to help you not only better understand your illness, but, to also provide you with the opportunity to save time and trouble of finding reputable sites on your own.

Some of the best sites for finding the hard medical science and definition of Fibromyalgia are:

Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibromyalgia

The Mayo Clinic www.mayoclinic.com/health/fibromyalgia/DS00079

MedLine Plus http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/fibromyalgia.html

and my personal favorite http://www.fibromyalgia.com/

The above websites will give you a wide range of information about the disease including Fibromyalgia symptoms, treatment options for Fibromyalgia, and related conditions of Fibromyalgia.

Some of the Fibromyalgia Associations are as follows:

The National Fibromyalgia Research Assoc. http://www.nfra.net

The National Fibromyalgia Assoc. www.fmaware.org/

The American Fibromyalgia Syndrome Assoc. http://www.ninds.nih.gov/find_people/voluntary_orgs/volorg68.htm

Some forums you can check out to find support are as follows:

eFibro http://www.efibro.com/forums/index.php

Fibromyalgia Online Support Group http://www.mdjunction.com/fibromyalgia

You can also go to Myspace.com and search Fibromyalgia. That is what I did and I found HUNDREDS of pages devoted only to Fibromyalgia with each pages having hundreds if not thousands of members. I have made some life long "fibro friends", "fibro fighters", and "fibromites" who were more than happy to give "gentle hugs" on my flare up days and when my "fibro fog" was at its worst
