Fight Bad Breath with Household Items

Ate something that is giving you an unpleasant taste in your mouth? Or perhaps you need to freshen up your breath for that important face-to-face meeting. Besides brushing your teeth or taking a drop of mouthwash there are a few other household items that will help to effectively fight off bad breath.

Grab two Alka-Seltzer tablets and dissolve in a full glass of warm water. Use just like a mouthwash rinse but make sure you don't swallow. The baking soda in the Alka-Seltzer helps to fight off the bacterium that builds up in your mouth causing bad breath. So, if baking soda helps fight off bad breath you can also take one teaspoon of baking soda by itself and mix it in a half glass of water. Swish it around the inside of your mouth, through your teeth, and rinse out to freshen up your breath.

Try these two pleasant tasting household items to fight bad breath. The first one is Country Time Lemonade. Put one teaspoon of the lemonade mix in your mouth and swish it around like a mouthwash, but with this household item it is okay to swallow the contents. The citric acid in the lemonade works to stimulate saliva and fights off the odor producing enzymes in your mouth that cause bad breath. The second household powdered drink to use to fight bad breath is Tang. Follow the same procedure as with the lemonade.

The next household item you can use to fight bad breath is Dr. Bonner's Peppermint Soap. Add two drops of the soap to a cup of water, swish it around your mouth giving it a good rinse, and spit out. The peppermint soap is made from vegetable oil that will help to eliminate the bad breath bacteria in your mouth. You can mix equal parts of Heinz Apple Cider Vinegar and water, which is excellent in fighting off bad breath. The acid in the vinegar helps to kill the bacteria in your mouth.

Mix nine tablespoons of powdered cinnamon and one cup of vodka, and then seal it in an airtight container shaking it twice a day, while letting it sit for two weeks. Strain the liquid using a coffee filter and combine one tablespoon of the mixture with a glass of warm water to rinse your mouth. Instead of using mouthwash to fight bad breath, you can use some Realemon juice to rinse out your mouth. The acid in the juice helps to fight bad breath by killing the bacteria.
