The first natural treatment to fight bronchitis is to make sure you drink plenty of water. Water helps to thin mucus making it easier to come up. The nutrient, NAC, works to thin the mucus by making it more fluidly and easier to cough up, which helps to fight bronchitis. Take two 600 mgs a day, preferably one in the morning, and one before you go to bed. You should also take NAC a few weeks after the bronchitis has weakened to make sure all the mucus is gone. The homeopathy treatment involves taking one Engystol-N pill under your tongue three times a day until the bronchitis is gone.
To help fight bronchitis, coughing up the mucus is key. Taking 500-600 mgs of Astragalus three times a day or six to eight drops of the root tincture with water to help get the mucus out of your respiratory system. Astragalus is a natural expectorant. To help bring up the mucus when you take the Astragalus, be sure you lay in a position that makes it easier for the mucus to come up and out. Thyme Essential oil works as a natural steam or vaporizer treatment, which will help fight bronchitis by clearing your chest. Add a few drops of the oil to a full pan or bowl of boiling water and let the steam flow.
Applying some hydrotherapy will help fight bronchitis. Apply some mustard paste to a warm, wet towel, and cover your chest with the towel. Here's how to make the mustard paste. Mix ½ teaspoon of dried mustard powder with 3 to 4 tablespoons of white flour. Add enough water to make a paste, spread the paste on a towel (not a washcloth) and fold the towel covering the paste. Don't put the paste directly on your chest. Place the towel right over your breastbone. Fill a hot water bottle with hot water and put it directly over the towel. Leave the plaster on for about an hour. Repeat every 3 to 4 hours.
