Fun Factor:
First off, this game has the most detailed graphics you will ever see. The presentation of the game is of cinematic quality! You can see blood, sweat, facial expressions, swollen eyes, bruises, and more. It is just absolutely brilliant! I can't say enough about how great it looks. Keep in mind, however, the best and most enhanced visual quality can be seen on the XBOX 360 version of the game.
Fight Night Round 3 is quite similar as far as game play from previous editions of the game. However, a few things have been added. One is the new Flash KO and the new Philly shell defense. These are a sort of mini game that can be triggered while boxing. It puts you in a first person view. One allows for a devastating knock out punch and the other allows for fast counter jabs to your opponent.
One of the best changes to the game is the fact that you now must utilize various signs to aid you. You must pay attention to your opponent's facial expressions, breathing, and more. This will alert you to if your opponent is wearing down or if he is about ready to pound you to the likes of which you have never seen! You must also pay attention to these aspects with regards to your own player as well. As you get punched and as you progress each round, your player will become fatigued. This means your punches will be weaker and your parries will become more difficult.
Other fun aspects of the game are the ability to start a fight at the weigh in, call out opponents, talk trash, and participate in press conferences. Lastly, you can play in legendary boxing matches, such as: Ali vs. Frazier and Gatti vs. Ward.
A total of over 700 combinations of defensive moves and punches are in this game. This makes for the ability to have a different strategy every passing second!
The game itself is a tad slow compared to the previous editions. But the awesome graphics more than make up for this. The soundtrack fits right in with the game as it makes it more engaging.
Fight Night Round 3 is available on XBOX 360, Playstation 2, PSP, and XBOX. It has an ESRB rating of T for Teen. This is because the game features mild language, blood, violence, and suggestive themes.
