Turbo Tax offers free Federal and some free State Income Tax Return filling out and filing thru the Intuit Tax Freedom Programhere.

TurboTax has a little advertised service to file Fedederal and state* free of charge to qualified users living in qualified states. *Virginia is NOT a qualifying state, but you may want to let your friends and family members in these states know about this service: AL, AR, AZ, GA, IA, ID, KY, MI, MN, MO, MS, NY, NC, ND, OK, OR, RI, SC, VT, or WV.

If your state does not sponsor a Free File Program, you can still prepare and file a state return within the Freedom Edition for only $14.95. (Credit card required.)

If you made less than $57,000 in 2009, and only have to use the 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ form go here, and fill out your forms straight on the IRS site free fileand e-file them too. Get confirmation from the IRS that your return was received in 48 hours, and get your refund they say in about 10 days with direct deposit.

(FYI: this site doesn't have the capability to support state filing or efiling, but some of the companies they partner with DO offer free and paid state return preparation thru this site.)
