Filling an Empty Space

April Higney
Perhaps I have written many poetic words, all
believing in something thought of to be from
the heart. I suppose the heart can be foolish
at times, but it doesn't mean it will always
get torn apart.

So you see it's only a vision
of how you'd wish that life could be, and it
sometimes doesn't connect, so you move ahead
for something better to see.

And something
has been gained, and something has been
learned. The heart has a value, something
that is earned.

Perhaps at times it seems
hard at first to step ahead. Wish for the
words not to be tossed aside, when they were
needed to be read.

Perhaps I have written
many poetic words. Maybe to some just filling
up an empty space, but they contain a meaning
that learns from the heart, and perhaps
something truly special will fill the voided
place.
