Filling Foods to Help You Go Dietless

So here comes tank top, shorts and bathing suit season again. And you're thinking, "really?" It feels like it was just Christmas and you're not in the mood to diet, though you feel like you'd like to lose a certain amount of pounds in the next couple of months. For you diets have never really worked and you've heard that phrase over and over again nowadays that 'diets don't work.' And you're like well fine then; what will? Over and over again we here the catch phrases of "changing your lifestyle," or that you must "change your eating habits completely." This is all fine and good if you have the time or money to totally revamp your pantry and refrigerator or join a program to tell you exactly how to get from point a to point of satisfaction.

You're thinking you can read a book; but many people don't find that books motivate them enough once they're finished reading them to stick with the plans outlined. And many books call for radical and expensive changes that most people just don't have the time or money to make in the average life. So what are some options?

Well one thing that really has always helped me lose a few pounds when necessary is to just eat foods that fill me up so that I eat less. You see more expensive versions of this dieting concept; but the reality is that there are many cheap foods that you can buy that will give you that feeling of satisfaction without breaking your bank or causing you to spend too much extra time or money in the grocery store. These foods are simply foods that make you feel full and satisfied faster without sacrificing too many calories. Therefore you want less of other foods.

In addition to generally being healthy; when you reach your weight goal; you don't radically have to stop eating these foods like you would with a crash diet. You can just eat less of them so you don't lose too much weight. They are foods that can be a welcome part of anyone's regular, day-to-day diet.

First on the list is raw broccoli and cauliflower. Chop these up into little trees and use your favorite dip. Even a small bit of ranch is not too much of a problem because you're mostly eating the vegetable. Try not to go over 1 tablespoon of dressing if eating a dressing like regular ranch or blue cheese because each tablespoon can be 100 calories. So remember that. And also don't eat more then a few cups of raw vegetables because too much at once can give you gas.

Next try a hearty salad sprinkled with plain Fiber One cereal (replacing croutons) and a whole avocado. Now avocados are high in the good fat. They are also pretty high in calories but, their rich and buttery smoothness and flavor help you to feel like you've really eaten pretty good. So try and put a whole one in the salad. The Fiber One cereal will expand in your stomach making you feel even more full. Make sure to drink a big glass of water or juice with this so the fiber has something to use to expand.

Any Fiber One cereal with milk is another great option. I truly enjoy these cereals with flavored soy milks like vanilla or chocolate because it makes the food feel like a more satisfying like a treat for me.

Now we all know that apples and water are highly touted and recommended diet foods. But, I never really want one or the other. I mean I like apples okay if they're in slices and mostly green ones. And sometimes I want water. But mostly I just could care less. But, when I think of having apples and water together. I feel refreshed and intrigued. I want that. For some reason your favorite apple (golden delicious, red, granny smith whatever) sliced the way you like with a big glass of water is something you kind of want. And, anything that makes me want to drink water; I'm all for. This is an especially good combination before going out to a big meal or before any meal for that matter. The water will expand the fiber in the apples and you feel refreshed and pretty full.

Finally, oatmeal with your favorite fruit is a great option. I like it with apples and sometimes oranges. Oatmeal is always filling and hearty. Even your favorite flavor of oatmeal without fruit is sufficient.
