Film editor Sally Menke was found dead in Griffith Park Los Angeles. Sally Menke had gone hiking and did not return home so friends and family called police. Sally Menke's body was found in a ravine near where her car was parked in a parking lot.

Officers and an LAPD helicopter including a search dog spent hours searching for Sally Menke before she was discovered in the ravine at Griffith Park.

Sally Menke's body was discovered around 2 a.m. near the 5600 block of Green Oak Drive in Bronson Canyon. When she was discovered, her dog was by her side.

Its possible Sally Menke could have been disoriented and collapsed because of the extreme heat that afternoon. When her body was discovered, she was only about a football field length away from nearby homes. However, it's still unclear if the heat played a factor in her death. Reports from the coroner's office will determine if heat played a part in her death.

Sally Menke went hiking with a friend on one of the hottest days in Los Angeles and authorities wonder if heat played a part in her death. Temperatures had reached 113 degrees in downtown Monday afternoon.

Sally Menke had a very long association with Quentin Tarantino for which she edited kinetic features like, "Kill Bill" "Reservoir Dogs" "Inglourious Basterds" and "Pulp Fiction." "Jackie Brown" "Death Proof. "

The one film Sally Menke edited before working with Quentin Tarantino was the all-famous 1990 film "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." This movie was an all time favorite for many kids and adults. Even the video game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a huge hit because of the film itself.

It's a shame to see such a wonderful film editor pass away so suddenly. Film editor Sally Menke was 57 years old.

    If her dog was by her side, I find it hard to believe it was foul play. I wonder if the extreme heat just overcame her. It's so sad. I hadn't heard, cheers
