1. Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawntreader - December 10, 2010
The Chronicles of Narnia have been some of the most celebrated collections of children's literature. From the Magician's Nephew to the Last Battle, C.S. Lewis' tales have entertained millions. Since the most recent theatrical incarnations of Lewis' tales, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, fans have been anticipating more. This fall, they will get their wish, when Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawntreader arrives in theatres. The Prince, the Pevensies, and a Pest will be the highlight of this film! Ben Barnes, Skandar Keyes and Georgia Henley will preprise their roles and take Chronicles' fans on one of the most whimsical adventures in the book series.
2. Tangled- November 24, 2010
From Snow White, Cinderella and the Little Mermaid,Disney Studios has masterfully created fairy tale classics for many decades. In the Fall of 2010, Disney will offer its fans Tangled, its retelling of the Grimm's tale Rapunze. Directed by Byron Howard & Nathan Greno, this CG fantasy will have everything- an evil witch, a hero, and lots of humor. The film should hit theatres in time for the Thanksgiving/Christmas movie season.
3. Marmaduke- June 4, 2010
After Air Bud, Beverly Hills Chihauhau and Marley and Me, we all know that kids love dogs and dog movies! So from the comic strip pages to silver screen comes Marmaduke, the loveable and destructive Great Dane. In this live action / animated film, Owen Wilson will voice the main character, who with the help of several humans, will remind audiences why we'd loved the Big M for more than half a century.
4. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole- September 24, 2010
Based on the beloved book series by Kathryn Laskey, the Legend of the Guardians is Warner Brothers summer release for children. The animated movie, made by the same studio that created Happy Feet, will be released in the Fall of 2010 and has stunning animation and includes the voice talents to Oscar winner Helen Mirren, and Geoffrey Rush (Pirates of the Caribbean).
2010 is going to be a great ear for family oriented films! So while folks are waiting on the next Harry Potter or Twilight film, there will be plenty of choices for little people to enjoy!
