Final Cut, the leading video editing software was the first major Apple announcement. Final Cut Server will be a new and improved management system for Final Cut. The features include: media asset management: catalogues 100 file types, proxy generation, keyword searching, access controls. Workflow automation: workflow templates, watch and respond system, review and approve tools, automated encoding and publishing. Final Cut Studio 2 will be the biggest upgrade to the software package ever and will feature more new features to make all of us video junkies jump for joy.
So now the question is how will Final Cut's mail competitor, Avid Systems, respond? Avid has been popular with top level video editing professions for years. But now with the upgrades to Final Cut, Apple can now fully take over the video editing market on the amature and professional levels. Final Cut is very affordable and is sure easy to learn. Plus Apple offers cheap workshops at their Apple Stores for users who want to learn the ins and outs of the software.
But these new announcement from Apple still leave many iPod fans wondering when they will get the touch screen iPod that fans have been asking for. If you read any tech. related website you'll find thousands of post requesting that Apple release a touch screen version of the iPod. Many competitors, like Microsoft and SanDisk, are gunning for the top spot in the mp3 player race. Microsoft has already started that the Zyne 2 will be released in 2007 with many new upgrades and a possible phone. So we will all have to wait it out to see who will be the true victor in the technology wars.

Post a CommentVideo publishing reminds me of the early-mid days of graphic design on the Web. You weren't a "real" artist if you didn't have a Mac and Mac had its advantages. Yet eventually the playing field leveled out. Mac is it again and I have to admit I'm tempted this round.
