Finally,Tweezers that Don't Slip; New Tweezerman Expert Touch Gel Grip Tweezers Perfect for Eyebrow Plucking

Tweezerman Builds Better Mousetrap: Ergo Tweezers with Leverage

Nancy Tracy
One of the least glamorous tools in a woman's beauty arsenal is her tweezers, a dyad of hinged metal sticks with sharp, slanted tips. I have purchased my fair share of tweezers over the years, each time hoping this would be my perfect final pair, only to be disappointed. Granted, I am not the most co-ordinated eyebrow plucker in the world. I could always see the stray hair that needed to be neutralized, but by the time I navigated the tweezer tip to the exact right spot and tugged I was a tad off target, snaring only a strand of air.

So after a nameless person borrowed my old pair of tweezers to remove a splinter and it disappeared into the Bermuda Triangle of lost household objects, I went tweezer shopping again last month. I was beginning to be skeptical that this new pair of tweezers would be any better than its brothers and sisters, but I had gone a week without plucking, hoping the tweezers would turn up. With my new eyebrow hair growth causing me to avoid mirrors and people, it was either that or join a commune.

Once again, I found myself at the local Ulta, mesmerized by the array of tweezer options. It seems like tweezers these days are not only supposed to remove stray hair and splinters, but also provide a decorative accent to one's bathroom counter. From polka dots to shocking pink, tweezer fashions have come a long way from your basic silver.

What finally caught my eye was a pair of tweezers made by Tweezerman that looked like it was pregnant. Just above the tip was a gel-filled oval ring. A finger pillow? I wondered. Could this really prevent slippage? Despite being an amateur, I decided to buy this pretty pair of tweezers dubbed the "Expert Touch Gel Grip Tweezer," fairly certain the clerk would not ask me to produce a cosmetology license at the cash register.

As soon as I reached my car, I tried out my new gel grip tweezers using the vanity mirror. To my delight and astonishment, they actually worked. My fingers stayed put on the comfy gel pad and applied enough pressure to pluck out any stray eyebrow hair I targeted. In short, these tweezers did exactly what eyebrow tweezers are supposed to do.

Of course, the fact they are pink is a bonus, and not just because they are pretty. The household borrower may think twice next time before using these feminine looking tweezers to remove one of his splinters.

Glad to see you're happy. Just don't get carried away and pluck them all out.

good review! I love Tweezerman products:) Will have to try these. As a side note~ the original Tweezerman inventor/owner used to live in my neighborhood. :) He ran for congress! Interesting story behind the founding of Tweezerman probably on google if youre interested.

Fortunately my eyebrows are so thin I rarely use tweezers. When I do, they tend to swivel between my thumb and my forefinger and then slip out of my hand. I have the slippery smooth silver kind. Can't seem to hold them in my hand. My biggest problem with tweezers is that I generally pinch my skin along with the eyebrow. So I try to stay away from the painful procedure.

Isn't amazing what a simple modification on an old tool can accomplish?
