Find Adventure and Philanthropy with Exquisite Safaris

Owner David Chamberlain Creates Uncommon Travel Experiences

Imagine having a front row seat, perched atop an open-air jeep, to the wildebeest migration across the Serengeti in Tanzania and into Kenya. That same afternoon, you find yourself serving rice to children at a Kenyan orphanage and recognizing your own many blessings.

This is just one of the unique adventure experiences created by David Chamberlain who, in 2005, founded Exquisite Safaris to meld high-impact philanthropy with high-end vacation luxury.

"Many people affiliate the word 'safari' with Africa," says Chamberlain. "In fact, it is a Swahili word that means 'take a journey'."

With a love of travel, a sense of adventure, and a caring heart for those less fortunate, Chamberlain is committed to making each guest's tour a journey of a lifetime.

Whether you choose to organize a family reunion at a private villa in Costa Rica, share a bit of history with your children on a bike tour through Vietnam, or enjoy a romantic Tuscan honeymoon with a socially conscious element, Exquisite Safaris will custom craft a vacation experience for any individual, family, or group.

The adventure actually begins long before you board the plane. Your trip is planned during a consultation telephone interview where you express your wants and interests and an expert travel consultant recommends destinations and activities. This includes your desires for philanthropic based experiences. While philanthropic travel is its signature offering, Exquisite Safaris creates non-philanthropic-based vacations as well.

Based upon your preferences, a uniquely designed itinerary is produced and a personal guide is chosen. Once the particulars are in place, Exquisite Safaris attends to every detail - from baggage transfers, in country transportation, meals, and events.

"From the time you arrive at the airport until you return, we handle everything," says Chamberlain.

Partnering with in country non-government organizations (NGOs), Exquisite Safaris travelers have contributed more than $1 million globally since 2008. On all philanthropic plans, Exquisite Safaris donates $250 per traveler of its own profit to the designated charity.

For Chamberlain, however, there's more to it than just writing a check.

"We do our due diligence. The companies we partner with are 501(c)3," says Chamberlain. "We follow their track record with donations, reviewing the whole spectrum of their activities. We take a close look at their required filings to determine if they are operating in line with their mission statements. We want an honest sense of whether they are feel good or real good."
