Thousands of auctioneers list their upcoming auctions on Auctionzip.com. It's free for them to list their auctions on the Auctionzip.com website, so many, many auctioneers take advantage of the publicity that listing auctions on the site provides. Each auctioneer has an auctionzip.com webpage that includes current auction information, biographical info, contact information, and links to their business websites if applicable, as well. All of this means that you can find out through Auctionzip.com when many, if not all, of the upcoming auctions in your area are! In addition, more and more auctioneers are realizing photographs of the merchandise draw more people, so there are usually always photographs for you to preview!
On the Auctionzip.com homepage, you can see auction categories of all types ranging from antiques auctions to real estate and farm equipment auctions. I highly recommend the antique auctions because typically they include all sorts of good merchandise-not just antiques. You can browse by categories, but I recommend that you browse by region. That way, you can discover what types of different auctions are in your particular area!
Auctions are a great source for furniture, household goods, books, collectibles, and just about anything else you can think of. Preview the auction you want to attend on Auctionzip.com. Most auction houses take pictures of the merchandise and place them on the website. You will also see contact information-call if you need more specifics! Also, often times you can make arrangements with the auctioneer to preview items prior to a sale if the day of the auction is not a convenient time for you. If you do your homework and study prices of similar items before you go to an auction, you can make sure you don't overbid and overpay for anything!
On the Auctionzip.com homepage, there is a box at the top where you can type in your zip code and miles from that zip code you'd be willing to travel to attend an auction. You can do a search right from there if you are in a hurry. I recommend that you click on your state (or region for some areas of the country) first.
For instance, when I click on my home state of New York, all kinds of good information comes up on the New York Auctionzip.com homepage. It lists the top five most viewed auction sites in New York State. They are mostly farm equipment auctions this week. It also lists the top ten most viewed auction sites and the top auctioneer by page views. I actually avoid the more popular auctions, because I do not want to compete with big money antiques dealers! After I get this pulse on most popular auctions/auctioneers, I narrow my sights by doing a search by my zip code and miles I'm willing to travel. When gas prices get high, I am not willing to travel as far!
Because I live close to the Pennsylvania border, I also click on the Auctionzip.com Pennsylvania page link, reenter my zip code and miles, and view my additional options! Some of my better finds/bargains have been in small Pennsylvania towns within 30 miles of my house in Binghamton, New York!
If you have been looking for ways to stretch your budget during the economic downturn, auctions can be a good source of merchandise. Auctionzip.com can help you find what type of auction you want to attend in your area. If you become an Auctionzip.com member, (under both the free and paid plans), you can even place bids on items being sold at auctions far from you or that you just can't attend. Just do your homework before you bid and know your price limits so that you don't overpay for anything by getting caught up in a bidding war! Auctions can be really fun to attend. I highly recommend you go enjoy a few!

I haven't been into antiques but feel I'm learning from reading your articles.......maybe I'll go to an auction sometime. TY.
I honestly had never even heard of this site, will have to check this out, thanks for the tip!
I love auctions- I never herd of this site! Thanks!
Auctionzip.com is so cool! Where I live - Branson, MO - there are a lot of antique shops. I've picked up some pretty cool things, but I know that the trick is beating the vendors to the good deals. This is an excellent tool because while these auctions are advertised in our local papers, I usually don't have one of those handy. (I get most of my news on the net - don't really read print papers.) I just wouldn't have thought of something like this on my own. Thanks for the great insider information!
thanks for this
Sounds like a great website.
I have not been to an auction in a long time... it is a great fun though.
You know, this is timely for me. As if it is not bad enough I do not have a job at present, one of my sources of income dried up yesterday. Maybe this will benefit me!
Danielle, it never ceases to amaze me what I learn here on Associated Content! Thanks for the this really useful information. (^;^) I was unaware that Auctionzip.com even existed until reading this article. I love auctions, having nearly furnished my first home with bargains I collected from them. Thanks, again!
