Find a July Activity in New York

When the heat of July sneaks into the cities, an you are looking for relaxing things to do, places to get away and enjoy some fun activities, New York has several options that can turn July into what you want it to be. In the city or the country, there will be a New York July Activity to please just about anyone, and some of them are free to boot.

In the 15 years that The NYS Blues Festival Activity has been held, it is grown in size and reputation. It is a weekend of some of the best blues ever heard. There will be two stages with continuous entertainment from 2PM till 9 PM both days. Some of the artists scheduled to perform are, Sean Carney Blues Guitar Women, Alexis P. Suter, Tommy Castro, Walter Trout, Mighty Lester, James Hunter and Buddy Guy. Keep checking the web site for up dates on the schedule. There are still more artists to be added. The New York City Parks Department always has great events going on, not only in the summer, but all year long. One event this July, and one activity that is free to boot is Dancing Under the Stars. Free dance instruction for all ages. It is a fun evening in the park, ending early in the evening so the younger members of the family can attend. Speaking of free, how about some free outdoor concerts in the country. If you are looking for a way to escape the July heat of the city, then consider the Village of Norwood and their free summer concerts activity. They do pass the hat and you have to bring your own seating, but if you can make it, you will have a great evening. Norwood is located as far north as you can go and not be in Canada, almost 300 miles from NYC. If you are looking for a July getaway spot, a real county experience, Norwood has it. The free concerts in July include Tuesday, July 3 The Brass Firemen- Block Dance to Follow, Thursday, July 5 Greenwich MeantimeA brand new band on the Celtic music scene whose members are far from rookies to the circuit. The band is made up of a group of talented young musicians hailing from Eastern Ontario, Canada. Collectively they have played in some of the most popular bands to come out of Canada.
