Find Your Real Target Market

Greg Smith
When looking at the term "target market", it couldn't be more direct. Target market means just that. You're dealing in specifics. Don't be hesitant if you thought that you were going to be able to please everyone. Not everyone will want what you have, and that's ok. If someone doesn't want your product, then you don't want to waste time with them. Remember, time is money.

What you want is a business that is filled with clients who are dead set on spending money with you. Clients who desire what you want, and are willing to literally wait on pins and needles just to receive an email from you. These are the type of individuals who will buy from you over and over again. Target markets can easily equal customer loyalty.

So how do you find your target market? Who are they? What do they look like and what are they looking for? These are all questions that once answered will put you well on your way to making a nice residual income over and over every month.

Most people will have you think your ideal target market has a lot in common with you. That is furthest from the truth. Your target market should not have any thing in common with you, but should have a lot in common with your product.

For example, one of the ebooks I've wrote deals with how to overcome morning sickness for pregnant moms. Now seeing that I'm a male, I had to perform tons of research and visit multiple doctors to get the information for my book. But once I presented my book to soon to be mothers who were dealing with morning sickness in their first trimesters, the books were selling like hot cakes.

Once you've detailed your target market, makes sure you give them a call to action. If they've found your product, it's because they were looking for it. Now you have to direct them to the fact that they found what they were looking for and they need what you have. After you satisfied their need, and their happy, you'll have a customer for life.

Finally, don't stop there. Keep a steady stream of follow up. Whether it's email, direct mail, phone calls, etc. You want to cultivate the relationship you've just built so now that person that bought your morning sickness book will be interested in you book on baby names 6 months later and your book on decorating a baby's room 2 months after.
