The Brand that Manufactures the Best 1/24 Scale Models

Many model car enthusiasts are very familiar with the wide variety of scales model car brands have to offer. Some of the more common scales are the 1/18 scale models and the smaller 1/43 scale models. The ones that are 1/18 scale tend to be larger than most scales and possess great detail in the interior and the engine. However, models that are from the 1/43 scale class carry very little detail and do not have detail engines or leather seats. This actually puts collectors in a tough spot because some actually prefer a model car that is not too big or not too small. Larger scale cars are normally ten inches long, but are highly fragile due to their lean metal bodies. Just dropping one of these cars can completely destroy the engine and the steering wheel. Smaller cars on the other hand are nearly unbreakable, but have very delicate side view mirrors.

Believe it or not, there are actually 1/24 scale models that are as detailed as 1/18 scale models. Some of the best 1/24 scale models are produced by the Franklin Mint and are amazingly beautiful. The Franklin Mint is very well known for producing models based on classic muscle cars such as the Dodge Challenger and the Chevy Camaro. Collectors can easily find these particular models at www.eBay.com for very affordable prices. Some sellers may be generous enough to sell them for at least forty dollars each since they hardly sell for the original price. For more information on Franklin Mint's beautifully designed model cars, go to www.franklinmint.com.

One of the finest model cars ever produced by the Franklin Mint would be the Bullitt Mustang that was featured in the film "Bullitt" starring Steve McQueen. The Bullitt model is approximately seven inches long and weighs nearly two pounds. Muscle cars from the Franklin Mint tend to weigh a little more than most models since they are very wide as well. Franklin Mint's very own BMW roadster weighs significantly less, but has as much detail as other models. You can find this red BMW roadster at www.eBay.com for only sixty dollars. In my opinion, Franklin Mint's BMW roadster is far superior to the roadster produced by Minichamps because of the amount of detail used in the interior. Minichamps does indeed specialize in European luxury model cars, but tend to overprice them a bit. They are excellent cars nonetheless and you can visit their site at www.minichampsna.com.
