Finding the Channels to Peace

In Philippians Chapter 4 verse 6 it says in the King James version of the Bible, " Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." Verse 7 continues to say, "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." Using the imagery of the swimmer, in maybe a channel that is warm and inviting but still needs to be traversed, how does an individual channel to the place of peace and find the actually arrival point?

It's a given that anyone and everyone will at times be in situations and circumstances that at the least will be unsettling.

Out of the din of all these potential and specific troubles, our requests can be channeled and "made known" to God through the process of prayer, which is like the swim across the channel to the place of peace. Within this idea of " made known" God is seeing the very individual and the very individual circumstances, distresses and needs.

That there is even the existence of this channel is consoling and comforting. It could be or might have been that this channel didn't or did not exist. But according to the word in the Bible, it does and it can be accessed not only for one thing, or for some things, but for everything and anything.

It is great to know it is there, that it is accessible and that the channel to prayer and then peace can be found.

The arrival of peace, that is beyond human understanding, but has the effect of guarding our hearts and minds within all, is channeled through Christ Jesus."

No matter what the issue, the channels to peace exist through prayer and the aid of thanksgiving in prayer as the way to navigate these channels.

So for the swimmer the image could be crossing some nice warm easy flowing channel inland from the rougher seas into the oasis or sandy isle of peace all the while letting your approach being made known and thanking for the existence of the channel.

While the verse admonishes us to thanksgiving, the thanksgiving should be crafted along the lines of existence. You would be given thanks that there is the existence of an answer that contains peace, and then imaging with this thanksgiving that there is the existence of God and the existence of his specific answer to this for you and that you have the existence of the prayer relationship as a channel you are capable of and allowed to cross in prayer, just as the adept swimmer is able to cross those warm and inviting channels to the oasis by the sea.
