Finding Christmas Bargains on Digital Cameras

5 Tips to Help You Find the Best Deal on Digital Cameras

Jenn C.
Your family member wants a new digital camera for Christmas. You want to find the best bargain on digital cameras that you can. This guide will walk you through the steps to find digital camera bargains for Christmas to help you save money. The first thing you need to do before you start finding bargains on digital cameras is write down the brand of digital camera and the model number that your family member would like as a Christmas gift.

1. Do the research

I never buy any product anymore unless I research the price first. In any search engine such as Google or Yahoo type in the brand name of the digital camera and model number along with the words compare prices. This search will pull up multiple websites that will show you the best deals on this particular digital camera in stores online. See the prices? They are all different, some substantially different.

2. Make a price list

On a piece of paper make columns for website name, price, shipping, tax and what is included. You will now write down all the information you found in doing the research from above. It is very important for you to know the camera's retail price before you go shopping at your local stores to know if you are getting the best bargain on the digital camera or not.

I also check the reviews online of that particular brand and model of digital camera by searching as above but adding reviews in the search. This way you know that there are no major issues with the camera or complaints before you spend the money on it as a gift. The last thing you want to do is to buy a digital camera that won't last.

3. Black Friday Ads

The day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday, retailers like to do large sales on popular items such as digital cameras. A lot of times the stores only have a handful of these items actually in their store. My advice to you is to check the retailer's website also for the sale. You may be able to purchase the Christmas bargains on digital cameras online instead of standing in large lines in the store only to get disappointed in the end.

4. Check the manufacturer's website

Two years ago I decided to by my mom a Kodak digital camera for Christmas. I did all of the above and then checked Kodak's website. They offered a special on their website that if you bought the camera you would get a $30 rebate plus a free $100 photo printer. This bargain on digital cameras was the best I found anywhere. Sometimes the manufacturers will have rebates on their websites that you are not told about at the stores. So it is well worth your time to check out the manufacturer's website under the section Promotions or Rebates to see if you can get money back on your purchase or a camera accessory for free.

5. Check other websites

You will want to check out eBay also at http://www.ebay.com a lot of camera dealers who own actual camera stores sell online there and are power sellers. Just be careful to make sure you are buying a brand new camera instead of a refurbished one. A lot of times they will put together packages where you will get the digital camera, a tripod, memory card and camera bag for a great price that generally is a lot less than what it would cost for the digital camera by itself. Before you buy from any eBay seller just make sure that the camera has a warranty on it and what the store's return policy is in case there is a problem with the camera. Be sure to review the seller's feedback to make sure that their customers were happy with their purchase before buying the camera.

Now you have all the information on the research you did on finding the best bargain on this digital camera. Review your list now and you should be able to see without question where you will be buying the camera from. Pat yourself on the back for finding the best bargain you could. You will be happy knowing you paid alot less for it and your family member will never know how much you paid for it.
