Crate & Barrel
If you are looking for furniture in Chicago that is vintage and classic in appearance with modern construction and cost, then this is the place for you. This Near North Side location is also convenient if you are out shopping for the home because it is also near the Container Store and a Whole Foods.
The furniture is well priced if on the higher end of affordable furniture. Crate & Barrel offers everything from the basics (sofas, chairs, loveseats) to the extravagant (formal dining tables, cocktail tables, and even sofa tables). Additionally, shoppers have rated the customer service for both the Chicago locations and the overall locations to be very professional and easy to work with.

Room & Board
If you are looking to find furniture in Chicago, then you should check out Room and Board on the Near North Side of the city.
Room & Board is a great furniture store for Chi-town residence because it allows you to pick up more than just furniture. Virtually anything for your home can be purchased in this home store. Whether you are looking for sofas, rugs, or lamps, you can find them at Room & Board.
Though they tend to be a bit on the high side in terms of price, they make up for that with what has been described by many customers as nearly perfect customer service. The atmosphere of the store is a favorite of many due to a friendly, knowledgeable, and not at all pushy sales staff (who are not on commission).
Though this is not the place to buy your furniture if you are in a hurry (lead times can range from a couple of weeks to couple of months), it is a place where you can get furniture customized to your liking. You will have control over the color, the fabric, and in some cases even the size. Finally, it is important to note that Room & Board has fixed delivery rates so that how much you buy does not affect what you pay in delivery. This is especially nice if you don't live immediately on the Near North Side of Chicago.

Jayson Home & Garden
If you are looking for furniture in Chicago and live in the DePaul area, then you may take the time to stop by Jayson Home & Garden. This home and garden store is a great place to look and a nice place to buy a signature piece or two, but it is not exactly a bargain store where you will want to furnish your entire home.
Whether you are looking for pieces to furniture or other home accessories like candles and soaps, Jayson is a great place to shop. The downside of this store is that the prices are high to go along with the designer-like styles. That said, if you cannot afford to furnish here, you an certainly use Jayson Home and Garden as a stop to find that special signature piece for your home's décor.

Roy's Furniture
Roy's furniture is a discount furniture store located near Lincoln Park. If you are on a budget and looking for furniture in Chicago, then Roy's is worth a look.
The furniture at Roy's Furniture is of solid if not high end quality with prices as low as any you will find in Chicago without hitting up a consignment shop. The sales staff is friendly and easy to talk with.
The downside of Roy's Furniture is that they warehouse little if any of the furniture. While you will get a great price, you can expect to wait at least a couple of months to receive your furniture. This can be a real problem if you are new to the area or if you need your furniture quickly for some other reason.
Roy's is definitely worth a look, but it is important to know about the wait times. If you have the time to wait, though, and are on a budget, it is certainly a place where you can get a lot of bang for your buck.
