Finding God

Come

Pat Arnold
Come

I hear you calling.

Your voice, at times, subtle as a gentle breeze and others like the mighty roar of a windswept storm.

I have always heard your voice; even as a small child. To be in your presence was, is , joy and warmth, security and- love.

You have called me as I plunged into wayward destruction; I proceeded with one eye towards you and ears tuned out.

You pulled me kicking and screaming back to the world.

Often, a gentle nudge is all it took. I have to admit, I knew full well the way to go, but needed a little push.

Despite my disobedience, as the loving parent you are, with unconditional love you, welcomed me back with no condemnation.

When my world is in a tailspin and my compass is broken, the pain too deep, you full on grab and hold me as an anchor for my soul.

You calm the choppy seas, bringing peace and direction and- love.

I have never run from you, for I have always known you were there; ever mindful of your presence, You gracefully guided back to truth.

In silence, I've looked to the heavens when it seemed you were not there to take away unbearable pain, only to find the skies open

wide and your tears from heaven reigned down as you wept for me.

Come unto me, you softly say, and I will give you peace;

peace that passeth understanding,

peace like a river flowing.

So I've come, I hear, I'm listening, I'm here.
