Finding God in Daily Life

Betsy Wise
God's character is many faceted but He lays out a simple and direct road for each servant to follow. From my personal Christian experience, I have learned the following:

God is not Fickled

God doesn't change His mind once He has a plan laid out for us. If our lives reflect a series of quick changes or detours, He is not leading - that is our soul (mind, will and emotions) overtaking the Holy Spirit's leading.

God Desires to Give

If God's blessings of prosperity are missing, I have missed Him in some way. Six years ago He specifically told me to get and keep out of debt. I'm still working on accomplishing that so until that is secure, I won't move quickly to the larger steps for me.

Walking With God

God's divine plan comes to us in small steps. There are many times God will reveal the larger picture and we expect that to happen immediately. It doesn't because He takes us one step at a time - I think mostly to see how obedient and patient we are - and how much we really believe Him - plus He's growing us. If He sees us staying focused on Him regardless on what goes on around us, He will promote us to the next stage of spiritual growth.

Getting Out of Step

When people are physically hungry they don't need Jesus, they need food. Jesus was right in the midst of the people when he fed with the loaves and fish; however, the people would have gone no further until they were restored physically. So many times I have wanted to go from point A to D and bypass B and C. I've wanted abundance before I had faith to receive. I'm securing abundance in the natural - just the faithfulness of working a regular job day in and day out - before I can move into God's glorious plan and responsibility of ministry. If God doesn't seem to be speaking, He is expecting me to do something first (probably something He has already told me to do).

God And Nothing Else

I have to simply desire God and not get caught up in the sparkle and glitter of signs and wonders. satan has the power to create signs and wonders as well so I must learn discernment that requires the pursuit of humility.

God's At The Wheel

When I feel disjointed and not sure what God is doing, I ask myself: Where has my blessing always been? Once I have a clear answer to that question, then I simply recapture God's heart. Nothing will have changed but I have resolved that God is in charge and I let Him take control once again.

Small Details Matter

My house has to be in order before I can minister to others. God corrects me down to the smallest and I mean smallest detail. If my life doesn't reflect what God believes, people won't see my life witness to His faith and mine as one.

I hope these truths will help bring direction to your life. Even the greatest truth delivered by a well-known evangelist is not the prize. The prize is our daily relationship with God that builds experience with Him. Simplicity and humility in the face of difficulty always brings clarity.
