What do God and golf have in common?
There is a book called Seven Days in Utopia by author David Cook and the book has become a major motion picture with a surprise ending.
There are some superstars in the cast: Lucas Black, Robert Duvall, and Melissa Leo.
Spoiler Alert:
The movie doesn't end on the screen in the movie theater. Viewers are instructed to go home and visit the website, www.didhemaketheputt.com
A little background about the film, everyone starting out on the course begins at the same place. It is when the golfers get to the 18th hole that they need to make a decision. The film focuses on a young golfer who is struggling with his anger on the golf course. When he retreats into a small town cemetery after a disasterous game, he pauses at a tombstone and ponders, "What will my legacy be?"
Robert Duvall and Lucas Black have a chance meeting. The story unfolds as the golfer is discouraged about life and seeking a deeper meaning to it all. Duvall plays a somewhat unorthodox mentor who accompanies him on the soul-seeking journey.
It is a movie about influence and mentoring and searching for a deeper meaning to life. There are many athletes who climb to the pinnacle of their career only to discover that they are unsatisfied with their lives, lacking in substance and meaningful relationships.
The story takes place in Utopia, Texas and life is never the same once you've been to Utopia.
One commenter, Zig Ziglar, had this to say about the book, "Read it. Devour it. Keep it as a reference book. You'll be glad you did. Golf's Sacred Journey is a remarkable and encouraging story with an entirely different approach on how to succeed in your golf game." You can purchase the book on Amazon but it is the film that will reach a larger audience for those who are seeking.
Faith-based films are growing in popularity because the entire world is searching for something. Matthew 9:37, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few."

faith the back bone of life.
Thanks for promoting Christian based film
I love that they are finally realizing that there is a market out there for religious movies. I pray many will change their lives after seeing them. I haven't seen this movie or read the book. Looks like I need to catch up. Take care. (((hugs)))
Just read "Give Yourself a Gift" in the health category. Forgiveness is a wonderful gift, as you say. This is a creatively wonderful article on golf, also. Thanks:)
Your preface to this movie intrigues me.
Your comment, "The harvest is great, but the workers are few." is right down my fairway Michelle. God bless friend.
